The Roselle Village Board approved the appointment of Mark Bozik as the Roselle fire chief at the May 26 meeting. He has been serving as the acting chief since the departure of Fire Chief Dan Anderson in January.

Chief Bozik has more than 30 years of progressive fire service leadership experience, having served as deputy chief in Roselle since April 2016, and prior to that as a firefighter, paramedic, lieutenant, bureau chief, and assistant chief with the Naperville and North Aurora fire departments.

He holds a chief fire officer certification from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, a Master’s Degree in Public Safety and Homeland Security Management from Southern Illinois University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University, and an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Waubonsee Community College. He is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, and a founding member of the Illinois Urban Search and Rescue Team Task Force.
