Not sure of the age, late 60’s to early 70’s. 1000 or 1250 pump, 500 tank, was gas/ manual, repowered with an Allis-Chalmers diesel and maybe an automatic trans. Chief at the time had some connections with the Village of South Holland and got former engines 662 and 664. Sorry, that’s about all left in the memory banks.

Jim, I belive you are correct, that this is the former South Holland Engine 662.

Markham still uses part of the former Station 1 as the fire department administrative offices. The bay doors are bricked-in. The remainder of the station is converted over to the police.

Very classic look and yes a stalwart legend.
ALF had the most distinguished pump panel.

The station in the background is their old station 1, it’s no longer active, the PD uses it. Its just north of the courthouse. I believe this might be used from South Holland Il.

Doesn’t Markham have a station that’s been vacant for some time? If so, where is it at? I’ve only seen the two active ones.

That is a beautiful engine. The 900 and Century cabs made for some of the best looking rigs around, in my opinion. The Mack CF and the ALFs remain the symbol of workhorse and lasting forever in the fire service. Thank you for sharing, Mike!
