I agree, let’s end this discussion once and for all. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, so let’s just keep it at that.
#2 by Wayne on December 30, 2018 - 7:45 PM
To Harry’s credit someone else brought up the MedTec thing in this thread and there was no need for that. On a related note let’s all agree to stop feeding the trolls.

@Mike C you post on every single apparatus order against pierce stop commenting with a bias its not that hard. Y’all aren’t going to single some people out if you are going to call out bias call em all out or i will. I know you like seagrave but even they make lemons. Stop going around making hate post just because you don’t like a certain apparatus move on and that is that. Kids you all act like kids.
#4 by anthony R on December 30, 2018 - 5:49 PM
@Harry There is no manufacturer that is perfect every one puts out lemons especially the last couple years . I like pierce too but they do putout some lemons just like seagrave ,spartan etc…. Depts like to buy from all one manufacturer because of familiarity and its i easier for mechanics to fix rigs they are familiar with

This site needs mods because obviously people can’t act like adults on this forum
#6 by anthony R on December 30, 2018 - 5:41 PM
There is a very large bias against pierce on this forum not every truck they build is a lemon. You call people out for bias for pierce but not for bias against pierce. For every bad rig a manufacturer builds their is 20 more goods ones lol.

Harry I can not tell if you are purposely trying not to form a coherent sentence on purpose, or if you are lazy, or if this is how you just type. Either way it is very annoying, and very hard to follow what you are trying to say. As far as Pierce, you are obviously a fan boy, and that’s fine. However don’t let that distort the facts. First it is way more than “a few departments” that had corrosion issues. It also wasn’t just in ILL, and it is way more than some surface rust, which is obviously the norm on any vehicle over time. This resulted in apparatus being taken out of service, and Pierce paying for repairs, or even in some cases them taking back apparatus. If it was simple rust, like you make it seem Pierce would not have done this. Also let us not forget about them not honoring warranties. No company that makes apparatus is perfect, and every manufacture has had some sort of issues at one time or another. It is the ones who fix their problems that continue to do well. Also it is important to remember Pierce changed their pricing to get more sales, which worked (as noted in their quarterly report). The bulk of departments will buy whoever has the cheapest bid. Brand loyalty doesn’t mean crap anymore to a lot of departments.
I’m not going to go into the whole Medtec thing, but you do need to backup your statements with fact. It makes no difference if you are in school or not, it is something people do everyday at work. You can’t make a statement as fact, then not back it up when people tell/show you, you are wrong. Like Steve said, its ok to be wrong. You can simply say “hey guys I’m sorry, I was mistaken about Medtec sorry.” Or “if” you were right show us where you found out about Medtec, I think we would all be curios, and people would apologize. However we know you were wrong, which is fine. Just own up to it.

there is nothing wrong with pierce it is a few depts. that have issues because palatine rolling meadows Elmhurst villa pk Lombard st Charles and that is name a few that have bought pierce why would they buy them when there is about 8 different manufactors out there that can build a rig
#9 by harry on December 30, 2018 - 2:08 PM
well like I said I am not going to argue with people that know so little I don’t have to show proof it is like when I was in school if the teacher said show proof I said its not needed because that is a waste of time I was on the honor roll in school as for everyone on here saying pierce is junk where is proof because there is about 1000 or more pierces being built each year and why is pierce in business still and if it is about rust most vehicles will rust heck fire rigs in florida have rust so what does that prove

So Harry…. thinking You are right versus being correct are two different things.
Related to your belief… that MEDTEC was sold to Horton, I ask you to provide the following:
* Provide more explanation why you believe your answer is correct
* Include links to relevant sources
* Use correct spelling and grammar and clear formatting
I will not hold my breath for this follow-up, as It has become clear you are troubled. People who tend to think they are always right are either borderline personality disorder, narcissist, or both. It is there ego’s reaction to fear of being exposed, they can’t even be honest with themselves, they actually believe they are right because they filter the facts that they are willing to perceive.
They have a hard time seeing others points of view or seeing flaws in their own thinking. They often feel that the world owes them something and have the expectation that everyone put them on a pedestal.
You cannot convince such a person with logic.
If you want people to take your opinion seriously, or simply respect you on this board. Acknowledge that you were incorrect, humans make mistakes. It is OK to be wrong, as long as you learn something from it.

I do know one thing for sure, Harry can’t form a sentence to save his life or how to capitalize letters.
#12 by Sebastian on December 29, 2018 - 10:40 PM
That’s because you have no evidence/proof Harry!
So please stop pretending you know what you are talking about because you truly don’t!! You are not speaking to ignorant people but you are acting ignorant with you’re remarks!! My apologies if I offended anyone with my comments.
#13 by Martin on December 29, 2018 - 10:01 PM
Harry you are wrong. MEDTEC was shut down not sold.
#14 by harry on December 29, 2018 - 9:54 PM
well mike c I am not going to argue any futher with people that know nothing anyway I know I am right that’s all that matters
#15 by FFPM571 on December 29, 2018 - 6:13 PM
I see the Pierce haters have thrown their .2 in .. They must be doing something right as they are still in business selling thousands of rigs a year…
#16 by Martin on December 28, 2018 - 10:59 PM
Can we agree Horton is the best on the market…
#17 by Mike C on December 28, 2018 - 10:43 PM
Pierce makes a subpar piece of apparatus at best!
Harry BTW: Horton didn’t buy Medtec! I like how you vanished after multiple people proved you wrong on a previous post!
#18 by harry on December 28, 2018 - 9:11 PM
I think pierce still makes a great product and I am sure Huntley will buy pierce again
#19 by Michael m on December 28, 2018 - 7:35 PM
Will this be for the new station or will this replace 942, the 2007 Pierce?
#20 by Mike C on December 28, 2018 - 5:13 PM
Good choice! Glad it wasn’t another Pierce!
