Excerpts from wandtv.com:

A truck caught on fire Thursday outside of a business on the corner of Virginia and Main streets in Danville and residents who were at the scene were angry over the fire department’s response time.  One person was worried the fire would spread from the truck to the building. He says he called 9-11 immediately after they found the fire, but says firefighters didn’t show up until 30 minutes later.

“We have a fire department less than two blocks down the street,” the person said. “We ran down there about 15 minutes into the fire, and we banged on the door to let them know we had a fire. There’s a small sign on the door saying fire department closed call 911.”

Fire Station 4 in Danville closed over a year ago, but residents are saying they need the departments opened back up.
