Yes Long Grove and Buffalo Grove have auto aid agreements to cover those areas as well as many other parts of their towns.

Does Long Grove have an automatic aid agreement with Buffalo Grove? Their station is a few blocks west of Buffalo Grove and there are places where Long Grove can reach faster than Buffalo Grove. Also, there are sections of Long Grove around Route 22 where Buffalo Grove Station 27 arrive before Long Grove.

The station was on the corner of Old McHenry and Robert Parker coffin roads. Down town Long Grove. It is still there. It was converted to stores. We were paid on call Dept. The Chief was Mel Towner and he ran gas station next door. His son Randy worked there also. I worked across the street at Farm side country store. what a blast when the srien went off and people came running to the station from all over. The tourists though it was a parade.

Chris, where was this fire station located at? It’s not the current one.

I was on the Dept. for 25 years during this time. We also had a Chevy that was a duplicate to the GMC. Both Gas engine, five speed trany. two speed rear end. 1000 GPM pump, 1000 gal tank. And riding on the back step and holding on for dear life. It was a great time.

Great pictures!!
Although FORD was king of the COE of this type, many forgot that GM had a similar model as well that lasted into the 1970’s.
