Excerpts from the ChicagoTribune.com:

Three female passengers were killed and two people were injured early Thursday in a crash in south suburban Posen, according police chief Doug Hoglund.

Hoglund believes speed and alcohol contributed to the crash, which happened about 3 a.m. in the 14300 block of Harrison Avenue. The dead and injured were all in one car that crashed into several parked cars on the residential block. The parked cars sustained extensive damage. Harrison Avenue is a residential block with a speed limit of 20 mph.

All of the occupants in the car except the driver were ejected. A female passenger was in critical condition at a hospital and the male driver also was hospitalized, but Hoglund did not know his condition.

“We’re still trying to identify the people in the car,” the chief said about 10 a.m. “We haven’t contacted any family.”
