This from Steve Redick:
I found another treasure from the archive my dad preserved. A full page COLOR photo spread from July 1939! This was billed as the 2nd ever thrill show with an attendance of 70,000. You can make out some classic apparatus. I was able to use photoshop to restore this to almost perfect condition. My dad must have been 10 years old at the time so I am assuming my grandpa might have been the one to put this aside originally. I think this is too good not to share.Steve Redick

Mike you’re right thats a Fire Patrol rig, the real CFD Squad from that time is the 1930 White just below with the guys standing in front of it.

Wow, great stuff Steve, thanks for sharing this! Would be awesome to have a chance to see this in person, all the classic rigs like the 1938 sedan pumpers and White tillers, the Bulldog lightwagons, I guess I was born in the wrong era. BTW: Anybody knows if the 1928 IHC ambulances were all red or black over red??

I am assuming that the rig on the right side, roughly were the goal line would be, that looks like a heavy rescue, is a fire insurance patrol. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks

In some ways that was sort of a precursor to the musters we all know today. While it would be nice, I can’t imagine enough interest that would justify renting a stadium.

Thanks for sharing that Steve. A handful of people can blast or deem the internet evil but the fact that it can be used to preserve treasures like that for others to enjoy.
