Today the new academy engine showed up at the academy. Here are the specs;

The academy had for the most part two engines. If I remember correct, when the current Crimson (not new) academy engine was purchased, the Ford/E-One was still assigned as the 2nd piece to the academy. Along with the Pierce Truck there was the Pirsch Trk.

I believe they had a second which was an HME (short cab)/Luverne. It would make sense to have an engine company in the academy to train on that most of the in service companies use.

Maybe a stupid question but anybody knows whats the exact reason they purchased second engine for the academy when there was just one till now?!
