At dusk on Thursday, Buffalo Grove received a call forsmoke in the house at 21 Chestnut Terrace. Upon arrival, the front of the house was completely obscured by smoke for the first companies and the alarm was upgraded to a Code 4 for a working house fire. Firefighters found fire in a second floor bedroom with extension into the attic before making a quick hit on it. Access to the rear of the house was significantly hampered by four and five-foot snow drifts making it impassable. Family members reported the fire but there were no injuries. Buffalo Grove was assisted by Arlington Heights, Countryside, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Deerfield. Buffalo Grove firefighters clearing fire hydrants throughout the village on Thursday had been on the street earlier in the day.
