Gary Fire Department history

This from Wayne Stuart for #TBT:

The Gary Fire Department operated this 1962 Maxim “S” model pumper. It carried Maxim serial # 2308. It had a 1000-GPM pump and a 300-gallon tank. The engine companies of the era also carried a 35′ three-section ladder along with the standard 24′ and 14′ ladders. This apparatus was assigned to Engine Company 6.

Alsip Fire Department history

This from Mike Summa:

Hello,
These are pictures of Alsip’s 2 bumper-pumpers.  They are mid 1970s Ford/Darley?  Interesting in the pre-Seagrave era.  Feel free to add to any information,

Wheaton Fire Department history

this from Stephen Wilcox:

Here’s an ancient rig. 1959 Ward LaFrance 1,000 gallon. I remember that the shift was a non-synchromesh. I only knew one engineer who could drive it without using the clutch. Wheaton had two of them in early sixties. Quite a vehicle.
