Riverside Full Still Alarm 8-2-12

This from Drew Gresik:

Today I took in Riverside’s Full Still at 340 Selborne Road. The fire was knocked by the time I got to the scene, but there were some great photo opportunities for the apparatus that were on scene. I believe there were 2, possibly 3 lines stretched, and Riverside’s Truck 1629 went to the roof.
The ambulance was formerly 1614 but now is 1624, a 2003 Ford E-450/Medtec.

New Network TV Show Chicago Fire – update

One of our readers found a link to an NBC article on the filming of Chicago Fire that includes a gallery of images from the Columbus Avenue scene this week. Looking at the photos will answer several reader questions that have been posed about the apparatus being used as Squad 3 with an unconventional … unique color scheme. Also there is a large blue stripe that has been added to the ambulance.

Tim Olk submitted images of the three suppression rigs being used for the show. Squad 3 is obviously the spare haz mat (G-492, 1989 Spartan Gladiator/Saulsbury) but the shop numbers have been removed from the engine (1995 Spartan/Luverne) and the truck 1995 or 1996 Seagrave). The Ambulance carries shop #C055 which is a 200 Ford/MedicMaster (American LaFrance) that had been assigned to Ambulance 47.

Wintrhop Harbor has been added to the site

Winthrop Harbor Fire Department Seagrave Engine

Winthrop Harbor sits along Lake Michigan in the northeast corner of MABAS Division 4 along the Wisconsin border. They operate out of one station which is part of the municipal building with the police department. Packed full of apparatus, the four-bay station houses nine pieces of equipment. They are one of the only all Seagrave departments in Illinois with two engines and a 75′ Meanstick quint. Dating back to their long history of FWD rigs, they had FWD logos affixed to all of their modern Seagrave units. All of their equipment with the exception of the ambulances are painted white.
