Please help us spread the word about the dangers of distracted driving. As emergency vehicle operators we encounter countless drivers each day who are not paying attention to their surroundings. Distracted drivers are a danger to themselves and everyone around them. Please make every effort not to be a distracted driver. Remind your family and friends how dangerous distracted driving really is. Stop the texts, stop the wrecks.

With the upcoming time change the Palatine Fire Department is asking for your help to remind everyone that working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms save lives. Most people are aware of the “Change your clocks, Change your batteries” campaign. However, most people are unaware that smoke and carbon monoxide alarms have a life span and should be replaced every 10 years. Chances are that most of you reading this email have smoke alarms that are over 10 years old. It is a proven fact that smoke and carbon monoxide alarms save lives. Please help us protect the public by promoting fire safety and reminding everyone the importance of working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Remember, Don’t Wait – Check the Date.
