The Joliet Fraternal Order of Police Supervisor’s Association recognized the two Joliet police officers who saved an elderly couple from a fire at their home late Monday.
In a Facebook post, the association recognized Officer Stephen Boe and Patrol Sgt. Scott Cammack for their act of courage and bravery in rescuing a 76-year-old woman and 77-year-old man who were in the residence in the 1000 block of Lilac Lane in Joliet.
The Facebook post explained how Boe was first on the scene and was told the elderly couple was still inside. Cammack soon thereafter arrived and saw the flames and heavy smoke inside and proceeded to the rear of the house where Boe had entered and removed the man.
Cammack then crawled inside and found the woman unconscious and removed her from the home while Boe was administering first aid to the man.
The couple were transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
