New engine for Cary FPD

This from Michael D. Douglass:

Here are a few pictures of our new Sutphen Engine 242 that’s currently being built.  It should arrive sometime in October.  This engine will replace our 2004 American LaFrance.  Once in service, this will be our 5th Sutphen apparatus (3 engines, 1 tower ladder and 1 squad).

Cary Fire Protection District news

Excerpts from the NWHerald.com:

The Cary Fire Protection District was dispatched about 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday (6/1/16) to the 100 block of Hickory Nut Grove Lane for a report of a vehicle that had struck a boulder about 100 feet from the roadway, leaving the driver trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters had to cut off the roof, remove a door, and peel away the windshield before pulling a man from the car. It took more than 40 minutes to remove the driver from the mangled car because of the extensive damage, Lt. Michael Douglass said.

Cary firefighters called Flight for Life who took the patient to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in serious condition.
