One person was killed Thursday evening when a vehicle was hit just after 7 p.m. by a southbound Amtrak train near the Deerfield station and dragged south near the Edens Spur. The car went on to burst into flames. One person was confirmed dead in the vehicle.
Metra Milwaukee District North line trains were halted following the accident.
