Crimson update – Crystal Lake engine

Images of the new engine being built for Crystal Lake by Crimson have been updated HERE. The engine is being built on a Spartan chassis with a Metro Star cab and will have a 1,500-GPM pump with 750 gallons of water.

Palatine orders another Crimson

Bill Friedrich informs us that the Palatine Fire Department has placed an order with Crimson for a new engine. The engine will be built on a Spartan chassis with a Gladiator cab. It will have a 1,500-GPM pump with a 500-gallon water tank and is expected in October of this year.

Palatine currently runs one Crimson engine, a 2007 Spartan Diamond with a 750-gallon water tank  out of Station 84.

CFD updates at Crimson

There are two CFD units that are being shown in production at Crimson-Fire HERE. One is an aerial and the other is an engine. Both appear to be nearing completion.

Spartan buys Classic Fire

Firegeezer.com posted an article HERE about Spartan Motors, Inc., the parent company of Crimson Fire, Spartan Chassis, and Utilimaster, announcing their purchase of Classic Fire, LLC in Ocala, FL. Classic builds a line of fire apparatus including small rescue units, commercial pumpers and tankers, wildland/brush units, and skid units.
