5-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 11-5-16 (more)

More images from Josh Boyajian of the 5-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 11-5-16

I got an early jump on the 5-11 this morning. As soon as i got to Ogden & Austin, I could see the glow and header. Place was really rocking. I took numerous photos that i will be uploading to my site in the next couple days. Here are a few good ones i edited this morning. I left around 0400, and it looked to be, the other half of the building burned after i left.

2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 8/3/16

This from Eric Haak:

Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday (8/3), the Chicago Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a fire at 3110 W. Fillmore.  Responding companies reported a large header and a working fire response was then given.  Engine 44 landed first and reported a fire in a one-story, commercial garage.  The fire building was less than a half mile directly down Fillmore from Engine 107’s quarters.  Engines 44 and 109 were the Still Alarm engines and 23 and 95 were on the box.  Engine 99 would also have a hydrant as well.  Battalion 14 requested a 2-11 shortly after arriving and gave a size-up of 1-story, 100 x 75, communicating to a 2-story ordinary, 25 x 50 with back porches and fire on the second floor.  The first picture you see here was taken 20 minutes in.  The fire actually turned out to be in two separate vacant commercial buildings in the center with some exposure to Eddie’s Towing which was largely spared. I heard Engines 5, 18, and 26 sent on the 2-11 so I don’t think 107 ever made it in.

Still & Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 7-30-16

This from Eric Haak:

At 4:45 on Saturday (7/30), the Main Fire Alarm Office gave the 18th Battalion a working fire response to the 1500 block of south Kostner.  Engine 38 boxed the fire shortly after arrival and reported they had an exposure problem and a burn victim.  I arrived with just a little fire left in the attic so the pictures are mostly of rig placement.  The first couple of images are of Engine 95 stretching a line to the second floor in the rear.  You can see in the third image that there was fire blowing out a couple of windows at the very front of side B, although one of the windows is not visible through the bushes.  The Still & Box was struck out in about 20 minutes.

Working fire in Chicago, 7-20-15

This from Eric Haak:

Chicago had a still and box Monday in an auto repair shop at 31st and Kostner.  It was putting up a lot of heavy black smoke but was under control fairly quick.  The first image was taken 15 minutes in.  Once Tower Ladder 54 was put to work, things darkened down real quick.

Chicago 2-11 Alarm fire, 6-29-14

This from Eric Haak:

Here are some images from a 2-11 alarm fire early Sunday morning.  This fire was literally a half block south of Engine 109’s house on Kedzie.  A few months back, Engine 109 had an extra-alarm fire directly across from their quarters.  This morning’s fire was in an auto repair shop which was a newly constructed two-story in the front connected to an old truss roof one-story in the rear.  The total building size was about 40×100 but the fire was contained primarily to the rear section which was 40×25.  Five handlines were used in the alley along with one that was brought up Truck 32 to the roof of a neighboring building to the north.  One multi-versal was used through the front overhead door and Tower Ladder 5 was put to work on Kedzie.  Images seen here were taken approximately 35 minutes in.  All four box engines were pumping with 99 in the alley, 109 in sector A,  107 to the south on Kedzie, and 38 in front of 109’s quarters which was kind of odd to see.
