Vintage 5-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 6-1-84

This from Steve Redick:

6/1/84 5-11 Southport Lumber. I was in the office for this one but very frustrated because I was assigned as EMS dispatcher for this job and couldn’t get in on the action. I remember Art Benker, who I believe may have been the Senior that day or perhaps the testing operator getting a call from one of the chiefs on the scene who said “if this gets into the rainbow ice rink I’m gonna pull another 5-11 on that!” I don’t believe the fire communicated. Note the photographer is the mom of Captain Frank Bertog of Squad 7. Also there was another 2-11 at the same time at Cermak and Wentworth.
