Building collapse in Chicago, 9-12-19

Here are a few shots from the Still & Box TRT response at 3959 w Harrison on Thursday. It appeared a construction crew was replacing the sidewalk in the rear of the building which made the rear collapse. It was a vacant building and it appeared there was not any injuries.

Dive Rescue operation in Lake Michigan, 8-5-19

The United States Coast Guard with help from the Milwaukee Fire Department Dive Rescue Team responded to the shores of Lake Michigan to search for a missing swimmer Monday night. The incident started to unfold around 6:30 PM at Warnimont Park in the City of Cudahy, just south of Milwaukee. Three young adults were in the water, and one did not resurface. One of the individuals made it back to a location where they were able to call 911.

Officials with the Coast Guard confirmed a search in Lake Michigan Monday night, Aug. 5 for one missing swimmer off Warnimont Park in Cudahy. Milwaukee County Sheriff’s officials said a report came in regarding a 19-year-old man who was struggling in the water after encountering difficulties while returning to shore. He failed to resurface after going under the water.

The search was called off around 9:30 p.m. — as storms moved in.

Water rescue in Milwaukee, 4-19-19

The Milwaukee Police Department, Milwaukee Fire Department, and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to a report of a kite surfer in distress Friday afternoon in Lake Michigan near McKinley Beach.
 
Officers were able to successfully rescue the man who did not appear to be seriously injured.

Naperville Fire Department news

Excerpts from fox32chicago.com:

An 11-year-old boy was rescued by Naperville firefighters and police officers after he fell through the ice of an artificial lake Sunday afternoon. At 4:49 p.m., dispatchers got a call from someone who saw a child slipping into the water of a frozen retention pond near an apartment complex in the 1300 block of McDowell Road. The 11-year-old was in the center of the mostly ice-covered pond and told rescuers that his feet were trapped in the mud at the bottom.

Surface Ice Rescue Incident – 1300 Block of McDowell Road, Naperville, Illinois. Naperville Fire and Police Department Personnel responded to the report of an 11-year-old child who had fallen through the ice on a local retention pond. Fire and Police personnel  worked together to successfully rescue the child from the ice as seen in the video.
