There were no injuries after a tractor-trailer rolled over on the infamous ramp at the northern end of IL Route 53 toward WB Lake Cook Road. Long Grove firefighters had to force entry into the container when the driver was unsure of the cargo.

Excerpts from the ChicagoTribune.com:
Firefighters needed more than an hour Monday afternoon to remove an injured woman from her SUV after a crash with a dump truck on northbound Route 41, south of 137 in North Chicago just before 1 p.m.
The woman was then airlifted by Flight for Life.
“It was an extremely difficult extrication,” said Cmdr. Joshua Rickabaugh of the North Chicago Fire Department. “The way that the victim was pinned inside the car, it was difficult to remove the car around her.”
Libertyville, Knollwood, and Great Lakes fire departments assisted at the scene.

This from Larry Shapiro:
Buffalo Grove firefighters were called to McHenry Road and the entrance to The Grove shopping center, north of Lake-Cook Road late this morning (6/7/15) for a two-car crash with one car on it’s side. Battalion 4 arrived and reported that two SUVs were involved with one partially hanging over an embankment into a drainage culvert. The two occupants of the car in the street refused treatment and the other two were entrapped and needed to be extricated.
The car was stabilized with rescue jacks and tied off to the quint while tools were put to work on both sides of the vehicle.
Here are a few shots from the scene. I’ll have more tomorrow along with a video.

This from Larry Shapiro:
I took in a reported rollover with entrapment Saturday afternoon around the block from my house. I arrived before any fire companies to find a one-car crash with no entrapment. The vehicle was a Lexus SUV with extensive damage. One occupant was outside the vehicle and the other had run about a block away before being stopped by the police. Both were transported, 1-BLS & 1-ALS.
The reason that I’m submitting these images without any fire department involvement has to do with the circumstances of the collision … and a recurring thought about it not being their time …
The car veered off the road, nicked a utility pole prior to coming into contact with a metal fence post for a chain-link fence. The car then rolled over while crushing two sections of wood fence with two 4×4 posts piercing the windshield … narrowly missing both occupants.
A few inches in either direction could have resulted in a far more serious outcome.
