This was a fire in a crane unit that moved intermodal containers around. E50 eventually needed to be supplied, so they used T18 (notice the outriggers 🙂 ) to run a line.

I can’t for the life of me remember how we drove into the yard, but we beat E50 in. We had full access to the incident, and several NS yard employees watched. Now days if you tried this, they’d send a SWAT team after you.

  about 240′ of ladders is great concerning NFPA ” law” is 115′. I’m surprised the city spends more for more ladders when its not recommend.

  MABAS 21 todays trucks vary between the manufacturer as to what is carried but most companies carry the following ground ladders
  50′, 40′, at least 1- 35′ maybe 2, 28′, 20′, 16′ roof, 12′ roof, 10′ roof, 10′ folding, 8′ roof, 8′ fiberglass CTA ladder, Stripping Ladder.

  50′, 40′ or 38′, 2- 35′, 28′, 20′ straight, 16′ roof, 12′ roof, 10′ roof, 8′ roof, Stripping Ladder.

  I would have to agree with Mike L that this era Seagrave was also one of my favorite fire apparatus.

  Just curious, does the CFD still carry the same compliment of ground ladders on the current truck companies as they did on the 70s and 80s era Seagraves? If not, can someone provide the difference between the two? Thanks in advance for your responses.

  The rig was originally assigned to Truck 26 when new – rebuilt in 1995 and assigned to Truck 18

  Truck 18 in this pic should be E-235 which was a 1982 Seagrave 100′ RM
  Engine 50 is a 1985 E-One Hurricane D-495
  Engine 16 is a 1992 Spartan Diamond/Luverne D-529

  How old is the truck that truck 18 is using?
