A rollover crash on the Southwest Side involving four vehicles, including an ambulance and a semi-truck, left three people injured on Saturday just before 11:30 a.m. in the 6300 blocks of South Ashland Avenue in West Englewood.
According to police, a 54-year-old man was driving a semi-truck northbound along Ashland, when he allegedly crashed into the rear passenger side of an ambulance that was headed east along 63rd Street. The collision caused the ambulance to flip over and crash into two other cars.
A passenger who was inside the ambulance suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital in good condition. A passenger in the first sedan that was hit suffered minor injuries and the driver of the second sedan sustained an injury to their left arm.
The semi-driver and the ambulance driver were not injured in the incident.
The driver of the semi was issued a citation for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
