I used to chase engine 4 all over the north side of Arlington Heights on my bike. Back then, it was an ALF and then a Pierce Arrow. They had the fire academy ladder truck there too. It was an open top mid mount. It may have been a ALF. Can’t remember. What a beast that thing was. That was a great time to be a kid.

I’ve never been a fan of the IMPEL/VELOCITY look so you are right it’s a rather interesting look. The first thing I thought of with that rear step is that of a beverage truck.

Well it’s definitely interesting looking. It has the fold down cab entry steps like the quantum’s and the rear wheel guard step like hackney used to use. It just has a very odd look to it.
