Moe, Orland’s Pierces are junk too. Good thing they have 2 more on order. Can’t wait for the new utility to hit the street…painted the same color as Ambulance 2 (wrong color).

At least they should consider a tag axle to add extra support. Similar to over the road coaches where a tandem drive axle isn’t need but extra support is needed.

Orlands Pierce tower has also been repainted. So…
I think spec issues have more to do with thier 100″ E-One than quality. Just my thoughts on it.

Let’s try not to run this one into any viaducts, shall we boys?

I believe they plan on using this as a quint so the single axle might be a consideration for ease of getting around.

Thanks Harry. You don’t know this but Orland’s E-one 100ft single axle quint was junk the day it was delivered. They should have returned it under Illinois’ Lemon Law.
Not axle/weight related but it’s barely 5 years old and had to be repainted already

This only has 300 gallons of water. Single axle is fine. And eone sells a lot of HR100s. Probably close to 50/50 on single axle and tandem. Comparing Apple’s to apples you’re correct. Pierce sells more single axles. It’s just to bad ppl don’t see all the failures they are having with the acendent. Just saw Miami Dade fds 100ft mid-mount where the last fly buckled.

Harry, Antioch’s is a 75′ ladder, not a 100′.

The HR100 is a far superior product compared to the Pierce Ascendant. Meanwhile, the Pierce Ascendant is selling probably 10 times more than the HR100. Amazing how good marketing persuade people……..
Very happy for River Forest on this investment.

Which trend will die first? Single axle aerials or BEV’s?
#13 by tim on May 2, 2024 - 4:36 PM
Oh no!! Not another single axle 100 ft quint!! I know, I know, the greatest thing since sliced bread.
