The angle of departure on this rig shouldn’t be of any concern. Drivers training will reduce concerns and problems in the future.
The King Cobra is a pretty sweet concept! Nice job Rosenbauer!

Their standard platform measures 158″ long measured from the center point of the rear suspension to the rear tail. The articulating King Cobra must be longer.

Mabas 21 you’re right. The Rosnebauers have a little bit longer of a rear end compared to Pierce and E-one. But as long as it meets the 8 degree angle of approach and departure as required by NFPA then it shouldn’t be a problem.
This rig has a 168 inch long rear as measured from the center point of the rear suspension to the rear tail. Pierces are usually around 152-153 inches and E-1 builds any thing from 152 to 165 for a similar designed rig.

I am not being critical, as this is just an observation, but compared to a Pierce or E-One RM tower ladder this has a very long body. Hopefully DeKalb did their homework and verified that the swing from the rear overhang can clear tight turns and cul-de-sacs.

Looks like it will be a nice looking Tower!

Yes the Pierce Quantum will be kept as a reserve truck. The old KME/Grumman AerialCat tower will be disposed of.

I hope they are keeping the old Weston pierce tower as a reserve when this comes
