Looks sharp, but I agree, all the black Linex is expensive and doesn’t improve performance or longevity. I worked on a lot of 20 year old rigs without an ounce of Linex and they held up just fine.
Too many apparatus committees are focus on wants rather than needs. Definitely important that the pride is maintained but a fine line needs to be drawn on needs and wants. Especially when a town already penny pinches everything else!

Any component that is altered from its natural or standard finish IS costly. But I’m not sure that many tax payers actually pay attention to or realize the cost of all the “want to have” items that are on most modern day apparatus.

Rhino Line the front bumper on an ambulance? Absolute waste of money. It does not improve performance, but it looks cool! I wonder how much that was? My pick up bed on a Silverado was $500.00…One can only imagine
