If you read a past blog on this new engine,
it is numbered 77 as a tribute to the former west side engine. EPFD is only getting one (1) new engine, not two.
Earlier today, they’re running H&L 44 and Engine 50.

Jeff I think the visibility of the chevron is irrelevant these days with the brightness and number of LED emergency lights on the apparatus.
Actually, all warning lights and Chevrons are irrelevant these days since the motoring public is too busy doing other $hit and not paying attention to anything else on the roadways.

If you pick BLACK as one of your chevron colors, you just don’t get it.
I know the black is reflective, but the purposes of the chevron is visibility during the daylight hours as well. The best way to do that is with lime/yellow.

They want to be CFD Jr.

I do find it interesting how Evergreen Park does whatever they want with rig numbers, but everyone else in Division 21 uses the numbers they are assigned….

Looks like it is almost done, when will it be delivered?

I wonder how many union wages this rig could’ve paid for….

Mike Mc–It’s actually Engine 51, and it’s back, but not running first due right now. For some reason, they are running Engine 49 as the first due. Ladder 44 has been OOS for a while again, as Squad 5 is the only aerial rig they have at the moment and it’s sitting where the ladder usually is. I live in town and drive past their station every day on my way to work. All three if EP’s current engines (49. 50 & 51) are all in the station right now. They are, actually, getting two new engines, supposedly to be numbered 77 and 61.

Evergreen Park has a heavy CFD influence in many areas of the department

What happened to Truck 51? I have not seen it for a while. BIg Moe: you are probably right about old Engine 77. After all, the old squad was called SS-3. Maybe they’ll rename the buggy Battalion 28 some day. Is the department really run by the part time CFD members? Sure seems that way.

What’s up with the 77? A tribute to the long disbanded west side Co.? Evergreen park engines are 49 and 50.
