Thank you Tyler for the correction.

Sebastian,
That is incorrect,
Schaumburg staffs (4) engines with 3 members, staffs (2) trucks with 2 members, staffs a squad with 4 members. 55A is not staffed, two guys off Squad 55 would jump onto 55a if need be or another company in town would pick 55a up.
Schaumburgs staffing is 29 members a day unless they have extra, and when that happens they will have 3 man trucks or even 4 man engines.

It is at station 52 and 53 i know the squad has 4 and 55a has 2.

Sebastian, that’s not how Schaumburg staffs their companies.

But yet Schaumburg can only afford to staff engines and trucks with only 2 ff’s per rig?? But they can afford all of these beautiful and expensive rigs? Makes no sense to me!!

But Harry this is Schaumburg. A city of 75,000, plus a mall that brings in thousands of people a day, plus an office work force that is also thousands more people, plus all the major roads and expressways that go through it. When you consider all of that, it is really a population of 100,000. So your comparison doesn’t really hold up. Also they have a lot of money, so why not replace an ambulance every 5 years if you have the funds?

And your point is??
Stop trying to compare the east coast (or other places) to Suburban Chicago!! Everyone does it just a little different!!

wow and to think there is a 30 year old ambo on the east coast in teaneck nj doing about 5000 calls running out of one station and 5 ambos and several chase cars

The old ambulance 52 (2014) is now in service as ambulance 53. The old ambulance 51 (2014) will go in service as ambulance 54. The current ambulance 54 (ex ambulance 51 International) will be sold, the current ambulance 53 will be kept as a reserve. The current reserve (2008 ex ambulance 52 International) will be sold as well.

Nice looking Ambulance! I am guessing one of the 2014’s will go to 54 and the other 2014 will become a reserve.
