I am not sure how they acquired the vehicle and the extent of the work performed to refurbish it. All that was wrong was corrosion damage to the chassis’ frame and the tank’s supports. Our estimates for repair were between $84,000 and $134,000 depending on the scope of work. As the vehicle was 23 years and due for replacement in two years the decision was to not spend the money.

From the photos, it appears the rear axles are different and extensive work was performed. For reasons unknown, the rear tailboard compartment had been removed and something new installed. I assume the price was right and we wish them well. The motor, trans, pump, cab, body and tank were all solid when we left it at Alexis Fire Equipment in 2017.

Quad County Fire Equipment inc./ Fire Truck Resource did all the work. Alot of pictures of the process with this truck on there facebook page. Seems like they do alot of refurb/repair work on older trucks.

Wow, previous posts on this tanker has it DOA. Cab and tanker body look the same. New paint scheme. Would be interesting to hear from someone in the know the extent of the refurbishment performed to return this to service and who did it.
