I think this conversation lends itself to the difference between a kme/hme/alexis etc vs a eone/pierce/seagrave etc rig in quality and longevity. Fox lake and newport recently bought 20 ish year old pierces and e-ones to replacce their own off brand rigs. Granted some of newports are pierce but very old. Cash on hand dictates some of these purchases. You get what you pay for.

Newport just bought an old libertyville rig and fox lake bought an old gurnee rig a couple years ago why wont they buy another one? They are cleatly trying to save money. Both have some really old rigs from an off brand manufacturer.

Then why are both in line to buy Gurneeās former 1322? I think they both have cash flow issues are are looking to replace very old apparatus with a reliable rig froma known source.

Fox lake nor Newport do not have a need for anymore apparatus Fox Lake just bought a new tanker and engine last year.

Fox lake bought the last engine Gurnee retired and Newport just bought an engine from Libertyville. Both are districts and must not be able to afford new apparatus right now.

Why would Newport or fox lake buy it

Harry is correct. The 2019 E-one will go to Sta 2 and take the place of the 2008 E-One at which will become a reserve, the 2001 E-One will be sold. Likely to Newport or Fox Lake.

well I believe there engines are 01 08 12 and 16 eons so I would guess the 2001 would go and the 2008 and 2012 would be spares and the 16 and 19 frontline I know the station close to gurnee mills always gets the new one from what the ff at gurnee told me

Which engine will this replace, the 2012 that is at station 2? I think the engine at station 1 is a 16.
