Excerpts from the KaneCounty-chronicle.com:
Aldermen recommended approval to buy a new fire engine for $618,423 at Committee of the Whole Dec. 10. The cost includes a prepayment discount of 2.8 percent.
The Pierce Enforcer will replace Engine 209, which is more than 28 years old and currently in reserve status. The new engine will go into front line service at Station No. 1 and the existing front line engine, Engine 205, which is 20 years old, will be placed in reserve status.
The city council will take final action on the purchase.

Does anyone know if they got rid of the old 204? The 80’s Pierce engine. They did get a New engine 208 last year. Did that one replace 204?
Looks like 209 is a early 90’s Pierce Lance engine.
I am guessing they like the Enforcer.
