Some of the new technology has become mandatory on new apparatus, and some manufacturers have been more successful than others in adapting the new technology to their product line.

True Mike. But what’s the excuse for not doing that right or at least backup. I guess that makes too much sense huh?
I know what you mean in that technology is wonderful until it craps out. We all know that with our PC’s and digital cable TV.
But if departments want all of the premium electronic features, be prepared to deal with them and the builder is all to happy to offer it.
So be careful what you wish for because you can and will get it.

Good point about new rigs/technology, Crabby. When you fully automate, ultimate computer and add all the other hoopdee BS, rigs break and don’t work because a diode burned up or a computer sensor read a glitch or whatever. Most of us get so wrapped up in having cool toys that do cool crap without thinking of how often it will be needing a program update or some nonsense. Manufacturers make bare bones, “severe” service rigs that don’t have all the latest gee whiz electric or computer system but you can’t stroke it in front of the other chiefs and expect them to be jealous or impressed with you if you buy that.

3 very nice looking apparatus there. Nice old PIRSCH that so many depts. in this region have had at one time.
Sad to hear that about ROSENBAUER.
Makes one wonder why even bother when you build less than good and wonder why customers don’t come back.
However in fairness, perhaps the early versions had some bugs that have been corrected but all it takes is one time to get burned to stay away from a builder.

Why the change from Rosenbauer to Ferrara?
