Such a beautiful home. I have been in situations like this. So much to do in such a small amount of time. Too few firefighters at the very beginning. Too little water until the spaghetti of hoses are all laid out and all the engines, trucks, tenders and water supply is in play and working… It’s in the walls. It’s in the ceilings. It’s in the garage. It’s up in the rafters. The winds are being whipped by the suction caused by the intense heat… and soon that hopeless feeling sets in… the questions fly through the minds, “What is there that we can still try to save?” “Are we absolutely sure everyone, residents and fire personnel are out of the structure?” “How are we going to get all our equipment back on the rigs? We are so tired already. All this intense effort and all we have is an outside frame of what was once someone’s very cozy home and castle. Thank You God for keeping us all safe. Thanks for helping us all work together. Please bless this family now so shocked by all they see and give them faith for a new start.” Enough musing. Now get back to work.
