From what I understand Paul Bauer was a modest and a very down to earth person as well as being a fine police officer and commander. I have a friend I had spoken to last week who told me that he knew Paul Bauer about 20 years ago from a “Corvette fans automobile club” and officer Bauer at first just said that he worked for the city as he didn’t want to call attention to him being a police officer.
The police car motorcade that preceded the hearse and the family limosine was so long that when the motorcade had arrived at 91st and the Dan Ryan expressway the limo and hearse hadn’t left the church yet. I was monitoring the procession on the TV and radio.

So very sad but so moving and deserving tribute to him.
I was coming down there Saturday from Milwaukee to the auto show on a charter bus. I saw 3 choppers hovering and didn’t think at first that was the news helicopters coving Commander Bauer’s funeral.
They had a nice tribute in the police display at the show.
May the Lord Jesus Christ be with the Bauer family at this time and forevermore.
