Mike I heard the same thing that you did however I have a little more information. Northbrook runs with a minimum of 16 men on duty at their 3 stations but they can run with as many as 22 people however that rarely happens. When the only have 16 men on duty they don’t run the squad. They prefer to have at least 18 men on duty as that way they can run the squad,
When they have 16 men on duty they run 3 men on Engine 10 and 11, 3 men on Tower Ladder 12 and 2 men on Ambulances 10,11 and 12, plus a Battalion Chief who runs out of Station 11. With 18 men on duty they run 2 men on the Squad.
When they have 17 men on duty they run 4 men on the Tower Ladder however I am not sure if they run with 2 men on the Tower Ladder and 2 men on the Squad but is is possible. During Fiscal 2015/16 they ran with less then 18 men 62% if the time. When the Squad is in service it does go out on EMS runs but I am not sure if they have any new plans for it however.

So what’s the plan to man this. Before I believe the squad was only manned when they have extra guys. Are they gonna jump between the tower and this now so they save wear and tear on the tower.

when the velocity or impel first came out I love them but only with the hany over mirrors as for the quantum I fll in love with this rig when I first came out in 1996 I have always loved the quantum as for the painted wheels wheel covers chrome or aluminum I think it depends on the color of the rig like palm beach gardens fl has bright green rigs so to put painted bright green wheels would make nosense

I guess I’m not the biggest fan of the VELOCITY, IMPEL and QUANTUM in terms of style preferring a more angular design but don’t hate these models either. But I agree that the painted rims do look good.
Nothing against aluminum wheels but for fire apparatus, it’s strictly cosmetic being the fuel economy is not an issue that aluminum wheels are supposed to improve on over the road buses and trucks.

The red rims look great! The previous engine with the hub caps looks horrible.
