Libertyville Fire Department news

Excerpts from  abc7chicago.com:

A home in the 1700-block of Sunnyview Avenue was leveled by an explosion in unincorporated Libertyville Wednesday afternoon. No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

No surrounding homes appeared to have been damaged in the blast, but neighbors said they heard and felt the explosion. Some area residents were evacuated.

For 32 years, Gerry Bailey shared the home with his wife and two dogs. Fortunately, he wasn’t home.

It’s not clear what caused the explosion. Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives are assisting fire officials with the investigation.
