  Marty none of the new ambulance’s have been rechassied. All they did was switch out the heavy duty front bumper with a stick bumper which reduces the weight on the front.

    Dennis ok. I was told they rechassied the ones with the cracked A pillars etc. Thanks for the correction. I know about the replacement bumpers although a bunch still have the heavy duty bumpers.

  well any large city will always have problems with vehicles because of streets and run call volume and really gas engine may be better in some ways for suburban depts. it may or may not be good but Chicago I am sure it is because ambulances don’t last long front line in Chicago I think there oldest front line ambulance is a 2013 f350 if I recall

    The Braun’s lasted 7+ years. Not in the greatest of shape but running mostly. A bunch of these have already been rechassied after A pillars and ball joints cracked. There are rigs that are switching out 2-3 times a week

  Why? These ones are garbage, falling apart and more often in the shops.

    Nothing but the best for CFD. By best that means either lowest bidder or lowest rigged bid.
