Lakewood is it’s own Department in Name only. They have contracted with the Woodstock FPD in 2011. All personnel, equipment & apparatus is Woodstock FPD. Policies, Procedures, maintenance, chain of command, all from Woodstock.

I am very familiar, Tyler, with this particular roadway. Have traveled it many times-it’s a great shortcut between Algonquin and FRG. But thanks-forgot completely about the water tower.

There is a VoFRG watertower about a mile north of this scene.
This is not the same Algonquin road that runs between Algonquin and many of the NW Suburbs (DP, MG, AH, RM, Sch, HE, etc.). This one runs south/southwest from Rt. 14/NW Hwy (FRGFPD’s station is a block south of the hwy) and turns into River Road then ends at Rt. 62/Algonquin road in downtown Algonquin.
Other options for shuttle refill could include traveling a few miles south to Algonquin or Carpentersville hydrants. From what I know access to the river in the area of the fire is very limited. Also, how high or low the river is currently will make or break its use.

With the multiple tenders on this alarm, where would they have refilled from – the Fox River just to the west, or somewhere else?

Lakewood is its own FD but it is apart of Woodstock

I thought Lakewood was part of another department?

I saw the header from Crystal Lake then was driving down Algonquin rd in Algonquin and it got so much bigger, it was rolling when i got there. I couldn’t get photos of the house due to it being down a long driveway and behind large trees.
