Marengo Fire Department Arrived at 18408 Route 176 to a Fully Engulfed Barn fire, Command Requested a Mabas Box on Box Card 5-1182 to Box Level.  Crews Due: Genoa-Kingston Engine, Algonquin Engine, Boone County District #2 Tender, Huntley Tender, Crystal Lake EMS, Woodstock Chief, Harvard Chief, Lakewood RIT. Here are some Photos i took on scene and at Tanker fill site

Palatine orders new squad

This from Bill Friedrich:

Approved at the Palatine City Council earlier this week, the Palatine FD placed an order for a Spartan Gladiator ELFD 20-inch raised roof chassis with a Marion Body Works 20-foot walk-around heavy rescue squad. Delivery is expected in late 2013

The old squad will be placed in reserve once the new vehicle arrives and is placed in service.

New quint for Elgin

More information on Elgin’s new 75′ quint to the frontline apparatus. This from Bill Friedrich:

The rig is a 75′ aluminum ladder Arrow Xt stock unit with a 1,500 GPM single-stage Waterous pump. It will go in service at Engine.7  Engine 7’s newest Seagrave will become Engine 6. Engine 6’s current KME will become a spare.
