This from Brad Steinweg:
Just wanted to submit an update for Glenwood. The 2000 expedition listed as 432 is now 424 and no longer runs medical calls. It is used as station 1’s utility vehicle. The new 432 is a 2010 Ford expedition equipped with medical supplies and is now our EMS response unit out of station 1.

Karl: I recently visited the Gary shops. I was told that the Glenwood engine is still operating as Gary Engine 8. I was also informed that Gary is looking into purchasing 2 HME 78′ quints and 3 or 4 Sutphen engines. There were 3 O.O.S. Ferrara engines there in various forms of disrepair, along with a Pierce Arrow engine, Co. 11, which needs an engine overhaul. Their Truck 4, which collided with Squad Co. 2, is likely going to be totalled out too due to extensive damage to it’s main.

What is the reason for the return to Glenwood and then back to Gary?

Just an update: We are getting 436 back in December for a short period of time, and it will then return to Gary.

Karl: It is still in Gary at this time, not sure what station though. The rumor is that Gary will later purchase it and we will use the money toward a new engine. Don’t know the full story, just bits & pieces.

Brad, What’s the story behind the Sutphen engine going to Gary Fire Dept?
