Three people were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation when a fire started at one home and spread to two others overnight in the South Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.
The blaze started about 3:20 a.m. at 8505 S. Saginaw Ave. and spread to 8507 and 8509 S. Saginaw Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis. At least of of the buildings was vacant.

On display last week at the Chicago muster was 5-2-4. This was built in 1994 by Vac-Con for the Department of Streets and Sanitation on a Ford L-8000 chassis. Last year it was obtained by the CFD and updated by RescueVac Inc. for emergency trench rescues. Hank Sajovic photo
