Dennis McGuire, Jr. came across this article and felt that even though it deals with a fire department out of the general area, it is a worthwhile read. The article tells the story of a Peoria firefighter that fell into the basement at a house fire last week.
He was stuck in a fire- and smoke-filled basement.
Alone.
The flames were intense, causing third-degree burns to his left hand and arm. He suffered severe burns to his right hand and arm, too.
Even so, he knows he’s lucky.
