CFD units on-scene with burn victim

Dan McInerney submitted these rig shots from an incident at 4404  W. Roosevelt. The facility is some type of recycling center. Engine 38 went for an ambulance assist and found they had a burn victim, which required the response of a battalion chief (Bn13).  The Office of Fire Investigation (OFI) followed-up with the patient at the hospital.

Chciago Level 1 Haz Mat 1-10-11

There was a Level 1 Haz Mat at 204 N. Artesian (Artesian and Lake) today as well. People’s Gas was digging and struck a 4-inch medium-pressure gas line almost directly underneath the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Green Line running down Lake Street. Engine 26, Truck 7, Battalion 12, Squad 2, and 5-1-1 (Hazardous Incident Team) made the run. Engine 26 led out a 2.5″ as a precaution, and Battalion 12 had the CTA shut down the ‘EL’ as People’s Gas made a quick shut down of the leaking section of pipe.

Dan McInerney submitted the following images.

Chicago Still alarm 1-10-11

Dan McInerney made it to a Still Alarm today at 716 S. Kildare. It was a small two room fire in a two-story ordinary, 50×40 that was occupied. Engine 113 led out one line and made a quick knock on the two rooms. The following companies were on the scene: E113, T26, E95, T48, and Bn13. TL14 and Bn14 were RIT.
