Many local area fire departments marked the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks today. There are photos depicting two of these ceremonies in galleries HERE from the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods FPD and the Palatine Rural FPD.

The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods apparatus pulled onto the apron at station 51 to symbolically represent the FDNY response to the initial attack at the World Trade Center nine years ago. They rolled out at the exact time of the initial FDNY dispatch. Then all uniformed fire and police personnel on-hand assembled for the flag ceremony. Larry Shapiro photo
