Buffalo Grove buys 2 Ferraras

The Buffalo Grove Fire Department recently placed an order for a Ferrara Inferno pumper and a matching 100′ RM tower ladder. Both units will have raised roof sections and usher in a new white over red color scheme for the department which is currently all red. They are expecting to take delivery of both units in the spring of 2010.

CFD company patches added

Thanks go out to Jack Connors (CFD retired) who offered his CFD company patch collection to be scanned for inclusion on this site. Roughly 60 of the unique patches that were created for individual companies have been scanned and added to existing pages. As more houses come online, their patches will be added if they are on file.

3 more departments have been added to Division 1

The following departments are not yet complete, but they have been added to Division 1

Elk Grove Village with 4 stations

Rolling Meadows with 2 stations

Mount Prospect with 3 stations. There is a construction shot included of the new firehouse to replace station 14

Frankfort has been added to Division 19.

The Frankfort FPD in Will County (Division 19) has been added. They currently operate out of four stations (#s 1,2,3,& 5). Their 5th station, #4, is currently on schedule to open in the spring of 2010. They have an engine ready to go for the new house and are awaiting delivery of a 2010 Ford F450/Horton Type I MICU that will will go in service as Ambulance 745 in the new station as well. An additional posting has been made depicting their old firehouse which is their museum as well. Thanks to Karl Klotz for all of the photos and to Deputy Chief Wilson for providing the rig specs.

Homer Twp FPD is online.

The 3 stations of the Homer Towhship FPD in Division 19 are online and complete with images thanks to Karl Klotz. They are expecting delivery soon of a new ambulance so an update will take place when the new Ford/PL Custom Type I goes into service.

Chicago receives new engines

Chicago has 6 2009 Spartan/Crimson 1500/500 engines. Two are in service now at Engines 69 and 119. The other four that are going to Engines 5, 23, 32 and 122 are not yet in service.

4 more departments in Division 1 are online

The following departments in Division 1 have been added:

Schaumburg (5 stations with only 2 rigs missing)

Palatine Rural (complete)

Palatine (5 stations with several rigs to catch up on)

Hoffman Estates (2 of the 4 stations are posted … missing a patch and a few rigs)

4 more Division 3 departments have gone online!

The following departments have been added to Division 3:

Glenview with 5 stations

Morton Grove with 2 stations

Highland Park with 3 stations

Des Plaines with 3 stations

Des Plaines is also in Division 1, so both Divisions will link to their stations.

18 more Chicago Fire houses have been added

Today, another large push was accomplished with regards to the Chicago Fire Department listings with 18 more houses posted in varying degrees of completion, plus several other houses were updated with additional images. The following houses were posted today:

– 1st District 13, 103

– 2nd District 69, 91, 110, 124

– 4th District 32, 34, 35, 43, 49. 96, 107

– 5th District 45, 60, 123

– 6th District 46, 72, 115, 121

Evanston and Niles are online

All 5 Evanston fire stations have been added to Division 3 (and the alphabetical index). Most of their rigs are featured but again there are a few gaps. In order to view stations 22-25, the Evanston link begins at station 21 where there are links to the other stations.  Each page has links to the other 4 stations.

Niles Stations 2 & 3 have also been added to Division 3.
